We have done this basketball event for about 12 years and we have a lot of fun with it. It was initially Hoops for Heart but later got changed to Kids Heart Challenge. We have taped teachers to walls, I got my hair dyed purple, teachers have been silly stringed and our old principal even wore a red dress to school from all of the money our kids had made. Our first Hoops for Heart was a country western theme with a healthy food fair to go with it afterwards. This year was a Marvel Comics theme. This has always influenced our kids and we try to teach them altruism, we are practicing the art of caring for others.
